Oh you darn did it now!

PinkShirtDude responds:

Thank you! I tried doing it!

Nature is beautiful, but the seafood industry is not always so. I dig the ticky textures here. Also glad to hear you're doing well!

PinkShirtDude responds:

Thank you for appreciating nature. It's sad how fish is treated, unfortunately there's no stopping this. Thank you listening and reading

Oh dang, this slaps severely! Amazing. Some tiny nitpicks: it feels a little empty in some of the transitions, and I'd cut everything above 8 or 9 kHz in the synth lead/melody (and maybe the downsampled sustained synths too, post-samplecrush). There's some harshness up above, and the rest of the instruments are enough to cover that highest part of the spectrum. Seconding some of what Gl1tchMe wrote, regarding frequency carving, limiter pumping, and the quiet section being unusually loud. But this is a super creative track with impressive instrumentation. Favorited and downloaded!

Bebrinki responds:

thx for feedback

Great job, I can clearly visualize the illustration in your music. The pipe organ contributes to that classic Newgrounds sound, which I thoroughly enjoy, but it makes the mix ever-so-slightly stuffy. Perhaps some light sidechain compression on just the organ would help, with the kick and snare as the sidechain source. And maybe some more transition elements to help with the repetitive form, but I'm nitpicking at this point. Solid work overall!

Vanhelyx responds:

Thank you for your review, really appreciate it a lot!! ^^
I do agree that the mix could be improved, it was really rushed to be honest.
I'm glad you liked it regardless <3

Such a saucy collaboration, aw yeeeee

8-BITek responds:

Thanks

This is so cool. It reminds me of future garage but with more space, drive, and impact. You have good instincts and sensibilities across genres!

xvndex responds:

ty, i appreciate the feedback

So expressive and textural. Every moment feels like a transition to the next, which is my favorite way. Great instrumentation and voice leading, harmony crawling smoothly, decorated by arpeggios. This is just a stylistic choice, but I would suggest an even phatter/more distorted bass layer in the end sections to compliment the high frequencies of the hats and snare.
I'm bingeing more of your tracks right now; they're all so good.

OVERSCORE responds:

Thank you!! I worked really hard to make the whole track feel coherent, it was actually one of the most difficult aspects of both the composition and the production of the song. Glad you noticed the harmonies, I’m still really proud that I could hit those notes so smoothly without any autopitch tbh!
I tried to make the bass subtly more distorted in the drops, but the mix is so full that I just didn’t want to push it. I understand where you’re coming from though!
Thanks for checking out my songs!! The album I released back in March probably gets the closest to this sound, although a lot of those tracks are a different genre.

Perfect for internal screaming in the club surrounded by fellow meatsacks (like this if u cry evertim)

Seriously amazing work

PinkShirtDude responds:

Thank you for your comment! Love being one of dem meatsacks!

Such a solid mix and great atmosphere! Fantastic use of both tonal and percussive rhythm. If I may be nitpicky, I would have like to hear more variation in the drums, but it's pretty subjective. Great work!

DanosNanos responds:

Thanks man I appreciate the feedback!

Four stars because, I mean, it's a good pizza, but I wanted sausage instead :c

Naw actually it's mostly because of the overpowered kick sub and makes it a bit exhausting to listen for a long time. I think shortening the teardrop's pitch decent to a 16th note would help, also maybe lowering its volume to match the bass volume. But the song is fantastic, nice choice in temperament with some cool rubs as you tour the chord progression. Great harmony and melodic snippets, reminiscent to me of Tycho for some reason, if Tycho were microtonal and 4-on-the-floor.

BeeFef responds:

I don't know, I do sometimes listen to Tycho so maybe some influence slipped its way in. But yeah, I get your critique about the kick drum. I could try a shorter-body sample in the future with this type of music. Thanks for the review!

I make musical things and enjoy listening to others. I'm open to collaborations and commissions for playing, composing, mixing, mastering, etc.
